I had the privilege of speaking with a University professor one on one last week. We discussed organizational agility, and the components that go into making an organization ever change-ready. We compared our findings (literally, “Show me your diagram, I’ll show you mine…”) and found that they were remarkably similar. One key difference was that he had the element of “Culture” in his. He shared with me that in his work with executives who are trying to attain organizational agility, they often stumble at the point where they are asked to identify and define their culture as well as discuss how that culture will impact the effort.
